Google Feed Character Length Limits

If you have a Google Shopping feed with us, we have modified it to comply with Google's new character length limits. Almost all the changes have been accommodated automatically, however, we recommend that you check your Google Validation Reports for any remaining issues.
Currently, the validation report will show character length violations as warnings. After 9/30/2014, they will appear as errors.
If you have a Yahoo Store with IDs too long, we recommend that you switch the 'id' field to use your 'code' field instead of the 'yahoo product id'. Remember to update any product filters on the 'id' field. If you are not sure what to do, please see Google Feed Warning: Value too long in attribute: id for additional advice.
A detailed list of changes is below for reference:
- id
- An error is generated in the validation report if over 50 characters.
- title
- Automatically truncated at a word boundary to 150 characters.
- description
- Automatically truncated at a word boundary to 5000 characters.
- product_type
- Automatically truncated at a word boundary to 750 characters. Also, at most 10 product_types are included.
- link
- An error is generated in the validation report if over 2000 characters.
- image_link
- An error is generated in the validation report if over 2000 characters.
- mobile_link (coming soon)
- An error is generated in the validation report if over 2000 characters.
- additional_image_link
- An error is generated in the validation report if there is a single URL over 2000 characters, otherwise, automatically truncated to 2000 characters at a link boundary. Also, at most 10 image links are included.
- brand
- An error is generated in the validation report if over 70 characters.
- mpn
- An error is generated in the validation report if over 50 characters.
- gtin
- An error is generated in the validation report if over 70 characters.
- color
- Automatically truncated at a word boundary to 100 characters.
- size
- Automatically truncated at a word boundary to 100 characters.
- item_group_id
- An error is generated in the validation report if over 50 characters.
- material
- Automatically truncated at a word boundary to 200 characters.
- pattern
- Automatically truncated at a word boundary to 100 characters.
- tax
- An error is generated in the validation report if over 100 tax rates.
- shipping
- An error is generated in the validation report if over 100 shipping rates.
- custom_label_X (X = 1 to 5)
- An error is generated in the validation report if over 100 characters. An error is also generated if there are more than 1,000 unique values.
